Do-San has 24 movements. It is the pseudonym (pen name) of the patriot Ahn Chang Ho (1876 - 1938) who devoted his entire life to furthering the education of Korea and its independent movement. Ready posture for Do San: Narani Junbi Sogi The four blocks used in Do-San are: a) High section outer forearm side block- Nopunde Bakat Palmok Yop Makgi b) Mid section knifehand guarding block- Kaunde Sonkal Daebi Makgi c) High section outer forearm wedging block - Nopunde Bakat Palmok Hechyo Makgi d) Outer forearm rising block - Bakat Palmok Chookyo Makgi Thrusting movement: Straight fingertip thrust - Sun Sonkut Tulgi Release movement - Dai-te (i.e. as in Sun Sonkut Tulgi etc.) Terminology for: a) Side piercing kick - Yop Cha Jirugi (Using footsword - Balkal) b) Turning Kick - Dollyo Chagi (Using the ball of the foot - Apcumchi) c) Back Piercing Kick - Dwit Cha Jirugi (Using footsword - Balkal) Must be able to describe & demonstrate all movements in Do-San.
