About Stuart Anslow
Stuart was attracted to the martial arts, like so many others, by film. He saw a samurai movie when he was 15 and was inspired by the hero's warrior spirit and values. Thereafter, he read every book and watched every movie he could find; trained with friends who had begun learning various martial arts; sampled kung fu, judo and fencing; practiced on his own; and finally decided after a few years that he needed to join a proper club to improve. He chose Taekwon-Do.

Stuart's decision has served him well. He has since earned his 5th Dan, founded Rayners Lane Taekwon-Do Academy and authored seven books about Taekwon-Do – the Ch'ang Hon Taekwon-Do Hae Sul series, The Encyclopedia of Taekwon-Do Patterns series, and From Creation to Unification: The Complete Histories Behind the Ch'ang Hon (ITF) Patterns. Used copies of Stuart's books maintain high values on popular Internet sites such as Amazon, eBay, Alibris and others.

Stuart's warrior ethos likewise fueled the birth of Totally Tae Kwon Do. He noted a substantial decline and general decay in Taekwondo articles in martial arts magazines. Inspired by Ian Abernathy's Jissen digital magazine, Stuart launched Totally Tae Kwon Do on March 1, 2009 featuring articles by Michael Munyon, Dr. George Vitale, Simon O'Neill, Earl Weiss, Alex Gillis and Ian Abernathy.

Today, more than eight years later, Stuart continues to edit, design and write for the monthly magazine. His articles concentrate on technical and historical aspects of Ch'ang Hon Taekwon-Do as well as interviews with prominent figures such as Grandmaster Kim Bok-Man, Grandmaster Richard Chun and Master Doug Cook, and Master Ky-Tu Dang, to name only a few. A lover of books, Stuart also writes an occasional book or product review.

Stuart is a full-time instructor and father of four children.
