Interviews, Biographies & Legacies - Vol. 6
Special Edition

One of the strengths of Totally Tae Kwon Do is the variety of articles; variety of contributors, voices and writing styles; and variety of masters and instructors revealed in its pages. This variety makes Totally Tae Kwon Do unique and contributes to the community like no other magazine today. No one is turned away. This 6th volume of Interviews, Profiles and Legacies demonstrates the magazine's exhaustive commitment to all who practice Taekwondo.

In the next 200+ pages, Totally Tae Kwon Do collects interviews with and profiles of instructors, Masters, Grandmasters and personalities across cultures and continents who have made and continue to make a personal difference for their students and for the art in general. But we also hear personally from a 1st gup student preparing for his black belt and a master who discusses the obstacles he has had to overcome on the path to mastery.

Be warned: This volume can't be read in a single sitting.

We learn of Master Philip Lear in Paris, France. Meet Grandmaster Davoud Arjomand, the first Iranian Taekwon-do instructor, and learn how Taekwon-do spread to his country. Hear from Mark Davies, who founded Tactical Edge, a battle-tested self-defense system taught to UK special forces. Learn about Grandmaster Sae-Jin "Jack" Hwang, who coached the United States Tae Kwon Do Team to compete at the 1st World Taekwondo Championships in Seoul, founded the longest-running tournament in the United States and hosted the 2nd ITF World Championships for General Choi Hong-Hi.

We discover Stuart Penn, 4th Dan, who despite a prosthetic arm and leg yet succeeds when many others would have settled for considerably less. Visit Orjan Nilsen in Norway, where he trains, teaches, researches and shares all things Taekwondo, including Kukkiwon poomsae and the many-limbed monstrous history of the art. Learn about Aaron Gassor, aka Ginger Ninja Trickster, YouTube sensation turned stuntman and actor. Meet Grandmaster Robert Dunn, who fought in Vietnam as a Green Beret, was inducted into the International Karate Hall of Fame in 1988, founded the Jun Tong Taekwondo Federation in 2009, and continues to teach and inspire yet today.

We hear from Grandmaster Ray O'Neill, a long-time student of pioneer First Grandmaster Rhee Ki-Hi and co-founder of ACE Taekwondo in the U.K. We visit Master Eric San Jose in the United States, student of Grandmaster Tae Sun Kang (son of pioneer Grandmaster Suh Chong Kang), NASKA forms champion and instructor of champions such as Mr. Joe Colon and Ms. Sammy Smith.

We learn about the first civilian Taekwon-do dojangs. Senior Master Keith Finch reminisces about his experiences as an instructor of Taekwon-do for the past 25 years. Master Chris Snow shares his personal journey to become a master of Taekwon-do.

Finally, we hear what Taekwondo means to student Bryan Poole, 1st Gup
